Challenge
Perry Local School District needed a way to store their student data and also a way to access and analyze it. The goal was to be able to leverage both local and national data to track student growth. They believed they could achieve this holistic view if they were able to combine multiple data sources such as AIR, iReady, Aimsweb, ITBS and ACT. All they needed was a platform that could ingest all this data and make it easily accessible.
Actions
Otus was a perfect match for Perry Local SD. Data that was previously tracked in various systems and spreadsheets was now available in one place for educators to analyze and act upon. Easy to understand visuals of third-party data contributed to data-rich conversations about student growth in the district.
Results
Since implementing Otus in 2018, Perry Local SD has used the platform to aggregate and analyze third-party data, and now also utilizes Otus for assessments. Using the Navigate item bank, teachers have been able to quickly build, administer and share assessments which now number over 54,000. This assessment data in combination with third-party data has allowed teachers and administrators to have valuable, data-informed conversations about student growth.
