Otus is thrilled to share they received three Stevie Awards in the 21st Annual American Business Awards, including Computer Software Company of the Year (Bronze), Customer Service Department of the Year (Bronze), and Technology Executive of the Year (Silver). The Stevie Awards honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide. Otus was evaluated based on its unique and significant accomplishments over the last year, including company key performance indicators, improvements to the product and customer experience, and innovation and leadership in the edtech industry.

Chris Hull, co-founder and president of Otus, was honored with the Technology Executive of the Year Award. Chris was recognized for both his accomplishments as president and the company’s accomplishments under his leadership. Chris is not only the co-founder of Otus – the platform was born in his middle school classroom. While the company has grown exponentially over the last 10 years, Chris is still just as involved in the direction of the product and is as passionate about helping improve K-12 education as he was on day one.

“Chris Hull’s exceptional leadership and dedication to improving K-12 education through the Otus platform make him a deserving candidate for the Technology Executive of the Year award,” said the Stevie Award judges.

“His background as a former educator has allowed him to understand the needs of educators and translate that into the development of a comprehensive suite of integrated tools that truly benefit them in the classroom. Furthermore, his commitment to listening to customer feedback and cultivating partnerships with other edtech providers demonstrates his ability to drive industry innovation and growth.”

Otus was honored with a Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year, as a testament to their dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences for all Otus users. Otus prides itself on truly listening to its users, identifying their school community’s initiatives, and custom-tailoring their experience to support their exact needs. This personalized support starts on day one and continues throughout their entire journey with Otus.

“We love hearing that each school district gets a Client Experience Partner that provides hands-on training and services based on learning about the customers’ needs,” said the judges.

“Otus prioritizes its customer service team with industry experience, and that service is evident in the high chat-approval rating. Great job providing so many training options for your customers. Fantastic that so many customer resources are free. Impressed with the weekly live demos, the in-person summer sessions, and the certification program.”

Otus also received a Stevie Award for Computer Software Company of the Year, recognized for its contributions to K-12 education and the edtech industry, as well as its 2022 key performance indicators, such as customer growth and net retention, platform uptime, and platform usage. The judges also acknowledged Otus’ Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), a metric used to measure employee engagement and loyalty toward a business, and that serves as an indicator of company culture. Otus consistently retains many former educators who are deeply committed to the mission and passionately believe in their daily contributions to the company’s work.

“The company’s commitment to creating a platform that addresses every step of the learning process, as well as its dedication to enhancing its product and expanding its team, shows that they are constantly striving to provide the best service possible to its users,” said the judges.

“The achievements highlighted, such as their recognition as the “Top Edtech Product of the Year” and their impressive net retention rate of 109.5%, demonstrate the effectiveness of their platform and their ability to compete in a crowded and competitive edtech market.”

Since its conception in a Chicago middle school classroom in 2013, Otus has been adopted by over 2,500 schools across the US and has delivered improved results for more than 1 million learners. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Otus continues to improve and expand its team, its product, and its support of educators nationwide.
