The Challenge

Wood Dale School District 7 in Illinois set out to strengthen collaboration and instructional alignment across its PK–8 schools by connecting standards, common assessments, and student progress data. The district’s standards-based grading initiative required a platform that made it easy to deliver standards-aligned assessments and visualize learning progress while keeping teachers’ workload manageable.

The Solution

Otus provided an intuitive way for teachers to design and score standards-aligned common assessments. Over time, the district expanded its use of Otus to centralize student performance data from multiple sources. What began as a standards-based grading solution evolved into a unified system that supports collaborative, data-informed instruction.

Today, Wood Dale uses Otus to review and analyze results from more than 15 data sets, including NWEA MAP Growth, FastBridge, WIDA ACCESS, IAR, and i-Ready, through query reports and visual dashboards. With all data organized in one platform, grade-level and content teams can quickly identify trends, compare cohorts, and monitor growth across subjects and grade levels.

Nearly 71,000 assessments were completed in the 2024-25 school year, giving teachers timely feedback and actionable insights to guide instruction.
