The Otus Certified Educator (OCE) program is a free professional learning experience designed to help educators build deep, practical knowledge of the Otus platform. Whether you're brand new to Otus or looking to strengthen your skills, the OCE program guides you through key features and workflows in a structured, cohort-based format.
The OCE program is built for:
- Teachers who want to get the most out of Otus in their classroom
- Administrators who are completing the analytics course track
- Any educator looking to earn an official Otus certification and digital badge
Cohort Options and Objectives
Otus for Teaching and Learning
- Share information and resources with students and families using tools like the Class Board and Bookshelf
- Monitor and track behavior in Otus
- Design engaging learning activities using Lessons
- Explore the Otus Portfolio as a means of showcasing accomplishments and digital samples of learning
Otus for Measuring Student Learning
- Learn how to create, assign, and grade the four main Otus assessment types, including +Plus, Simple, Rubric, and Advanced
- Explore Assessment Analytics so you can make data-driven instructional decisions
- Learn how Teachers and Students can add artifacts to the Student Portfolio to showcase accomplishments and digital samples of learning
Otus for Progress Monitoring with Plans
- Learn how to create and manage individualized student Plans to support academic, behavioral, and SEL goals
- Track progress over time using the Overall Status Bar and item-level tracking
- Discover how Plans can support MTSS, IEPs, and student success teams with flexible, district-specific workflows
- Explore real examples of Plans in action and gain tips for making the most of this powerful progress monitoring tool
Otus Analytics for Teachers
- View and analyze 3rd party assessment data including NWEA MAP and Acadience to inform classroom instruction
- Use Assessment Analytics to understand student performance on Otus assessments and guide next steps
- Analyze Rubric Assessment data to monitor student progress
- View and interpret student Standards Mastery data at the class level
Otus Analytics for Administrators (For Administrators Only)
- View and analyze 3rd party assessment data including NWEA MAP and Acadience across classrooms and buildings
- Build and run Query Reports to pull targeted student data across your district
- Use Historical Analytics to track performance trends over time
- Learn how to make data actionable at the administrator level using Otus' district-wide reporting tools
Otus for Advanced Assessments
Prerequisite: Complete Measuring Student Learning.
- Explore the builder and preview an example assessment to understand the full student experience
- Create and configure a variety of question types including multiple choice, drag and drop, drop down, cloze, classification, matching…
- Add features like calculators, passages, and paginated content to enhance your assessment design
- Understand scoring types including auto-scoring and manual scoring for question types like essays, drawings, and audio/video recordings
- Link standards to assessment items and explore item layout options
- Grade an assessment and analyze results using Assessment Analytics to make data-driven instructional decisions
