Otus Chosen as NWEA MAP Authorized Data Partner

Author: Keith Westman | Blog |

Otus announced today that the Otus Student Performance Platform®, a tool that provides educators with a single place to gather and analyze classroom management and student proficiency data, has been selected to become a MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Authorized Data Partner. The partnership between NWEA and Otus provides teachers and school leaders with direct access to MAP data from within Otus so that the data can be used to more efficiently differentiate student instruction.

“We strongly believe that assessment should inform instruction, which is why we are excited to partner with NWEA,” said Andy Bluhm CEO and Co-Founder of Otus. “Our goal is for MAP data to be actionable by teachers at the classroom level, and we know Otus helps make that happen.”

Teacher and school leaders who use Otus are now able to view MAP data directly within the Otus platform. During the fall of 2016, students and parents will have the same ability.

Co-Founded by two Chicago area teachers, Christopher Hull (recently named to NSBA’s “20 to Watch” list) and Pete Helfers, and Chicago investor Andy Bluhm, Otus drastically decreases the number of different tools teachers need to use each day by putting classroom, learning, and data management tools within the same system.

“We were intrigued by what Otus presented to us when we reviewed a variety of other popular learning management platforms,” said Dr. Dane Delli, Superintendent of River Trails School District 26 in Prospect Heights, Illinois. “After careful consideration, we decided to implement the Otus Student Performance Platform in all grade levels next school year. The ability for Otus to make NWEA and other student performance data actionable at the student level is exciting and something that, until now, was not available to us.”
